Courtesy of K-Lo, here’s something Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said tonight after the President’s speech: “The President’s numerous references to September 11th did not provide a way forward in Iraq, they only served to remind the American people that our most dangerous enemy, namely Osama bin Laden, is still on the loose and Al Qaeda remains capable of doing this nation great harm nearly four years after it attacked America.”
I’m gonna say this again, because apparently I haven’t said it enough times yet. In fact, I’m gonna say it in big, bold letters.
The war on terror is no more about Osama bin Laden than World War II was about Tojo.
Upon reflection, it occurs to me that to understand what I mean requires a basic knowledge of history, including what World War II was and who Hideki Tojo was. That’s something I can’t really rely on these days, particularly not from members of Congress. So read this if you don’t get the reference.
